Welcome to My Journal!

My tags suck, and my fic posts are a mishmash of locked and unlocked that I plan to deal with at some point.

If you're looking for my fic the best place to go for now is my AO3 account or my website.

Sunny and Warm (a Remix Update)

inalasahl
I wrote a little Jayne gen piece for this year's Remix Redux.

Also, [personal profile] rivkat took a little SPN fic of mine from three years ago and turned it into a season nine fic, and you should totally check it out, because she always writes good things and I love the way she engages with current canon.

Dear MCU AU Fest Author
avengers, bruce/tony

Okay, first, I am so, so sorry that it took me so long to get this up, and if you've already started feel free to ignore this. Feel free to ignore all of this even if you haven't started. I'm not that picky. I'm really looking forward to whatever you write, and I'm really excited you like one of the pairings I like enough to offer to write for it.

I'm also sorry that I didn't get into a discussion of the different AU scenarios. I did write some stuff out, but it just felt kind of pointless at this late date to post it, and I really do feel that whatever direction you take will be awesome.

These are just some thoughts, because I know some people like to have them.

Bruce/Tony
I love the rapport they establish in Avengers, how they click, how accepting Tony is of Bruce and of how comfortable Bruce seems to be around him there and in the bit at the end of Iron Man 3. They don't trust unknown people easily, but somehow they trust each other. They get to have that, but also someone to geek out about science with. I also think it's interesting they both have body issues to deal with.

Clint/Natasha
Their mutual respect and trust comes across so clearly in the Avengers, and I really love how obvious it is that they have each other's back.

Bucky/Steve
My heart hurts for the both of them. I love their obvious mutual admiration society, how they both know each other so well, yet still believe the best of each other.

Jemma/Skye
They both get so goofy and cute with each other in a way they don't get with others, and even though they don't have much in common, it's really interesting to watch them try to understand each other and build a flirty friendship.

Loki/Steve
If they had to work together for some reason, they'd be an unbeatable team. Loki's a great strategist, but his tactics suck. Whereas Steve is a brilliant tactician, but generally leaves strategy to others. I also think that if Loki's ever going to be redeemed, he'd have to trust someone and who's more trustworthy than Steve? Not that the relationship would be one-sided. I think Loki alone would be selfish enough to put Steve's life above all else, whereas even Bucky, I think, would put Steve's values ahead of Steve's life.

Steve/Tony
I think the two of them are different enough to bring out the best in each other. They challenge each other in a good way.

1) Remix, the challenge where you remix someone else's fic is back again this year after a hiatus last year. Sign-ups close in a few hours, for more details see remixers_lounge.

2) Television without Pity (TWoP) is closing down on April 4! The forums will remain open until the end of May. ETA: The original founders have started a new site.

3) I saw the Veronica Mars movie. It was pretty much everything I wanted from a Veronica Mars movie, and a much better way of ending things than season 3.

4) There's something called mcu_aufest starting up, and if you're interested in writing for the MCU (including the SHIELD TV show) it sounds pretty intriguing. I've never seen an attempt to match people on AU scenarios before, so I almost want to participate based solely on the ambition of the idea.

5) 5) I also wrote a pinch-hit for the Avengers Remix, which is here: Bruce/Clint, A/B/O, my first MCU fic, my first A/B/O.

I Made a Vid
thefandomschool

It's not a great vid — something went horribly wrong somewhere and lots of it is pixellated. However, it's mine. I made it, and I've never made a vid before. Nothing fancy, because I don't know how to do anything fancy.

Fandom: Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 1
Running Time: 3 minutes 47 seconds

Concrit welcome. Though if it's of the technical variety, you might want to use the Steve's English.

You can find it on my tumblr.

Author's Notes:Thanks to bibs for the beta.

The amazing art that inspired this story is by sagetan. You absolutely have to go and praise it. I was extremely fortunate to have been able to claim this art, and to get to work with such a talented and kind partner. I only wish I could write a story as good as something this beautiful deserved.

I Don't Know What to Say Here
myoldfriend

I just learned that vchrusch died. I got to meet him at the Austin Shindig back in 2004 and had many chat conversations with him in those years. The fan community will be poorer for his loss.

A few years ago, bradcpu and [personal profile] laurashapiro put together a vid that better than anything captures what it feels like to be a Firefly fan. Part of the brilliance of the vid is that they incorporated footage recorded by other vidders in their hometowns. Phil was a contributor.

Of course, he also made his own vids. So far as I know, he never got around to posting a master list, so here's his vidding tag.
